New Product Release REDSCAN Lite
Introducing REDSCAN Lite, an Easy-to-Install High-Performance Intrusion Detection Sensor
Optex Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, President & CEO: Kazuo Ikeda, hereinafter “Optex”) launches REDSCAN Lite (hereinafter the “product”) worldwide on September 29, 2025.

This product is a high-performance indoor laser scan sensor that can identify an object’s size, distance from the sensor, and speed. In normal operation mode, just one unit provides a 10 × 10 m detection area.
Background of the development. Conventional REDSCAN series products offer multiple functions, but they also require precise on-site installation and adjustment. In overseas markets, where labor shortages and high staff turnover are issues, installation errors often cause false alarms, and sending engineers for re-adjustment can be a heavy burden. To address such problems, Optex developed this product to minimize complex adjustments and settings, making it possible for any installer to achieve full laser scanning performance.
Product applications
The product monitors critical equipment and indoor-outdoor boundaries using a surface detection area. When an intrusion is detected, it can trigger an alarm, notify security guards, or link with cameras to identify intruders. Typical applications include monitoring inside server rooms and research facilities, protecting pharmacies and jewelry stores, and safeguarding art storage or underground warehouses.

Product features
Hardware
Visualization of the detection area with simple angle adjustment – Infrared laser light is invisible, so angle adjustment of the detection area with conventional models requires special tools. With this product, the detection area can be visualized using a commercially available laser pointer. Angle adjustment is also very simple, and can be done with just a turn of a dial on the device. This function allows users to start installation even before connecting the power supply. ※Laser pointer and RLS-LAT linkage accessory sold separately.
Software
Automated adjustment functions – The Auto Area Correction function (patent pending) automatically recognizes walls, floors, and fences, making it possible to set the appropriate detection area size just by turning on the power. Optex also designed a simple, user-friendly web interface specifically for this product, and included a new adjustment feature called Detection History Analysis (patent pending).
This function stores up to 100 detection records and simulates how changing settings would reduce detection events. Simulation results can then be saved and applied directly to the settings.
